Pros

Great people you work with. Some days you make good money some days you don't. The regular meetings always keep us updated and the discount is great.

Cons

Management chooses favorites in resturaunt meaning if you aren't in their close circle of friends you are nothing. Bussers and Host are overworked for very little benefit or profit to themselves. Hours can sometimes drive even the most sane employee over the edge We are understaffed most of the time so it is quite a pain

Pros

There is always room to grow at Outback. Benifits are comparable to other companies.

Cons

Extremely long work days, no less then 10 but usually 12-13. Bonus system is worked into your salary and can be misleading. "Base salary is $30,000, but then you are given a no less then amount you make.

Pros

Good national advertising, name recognition, regular customers, only open at night so it's good for college students or those using it as a second job, quality food for the most part

Cons

Short shifts so it's almost impossible to average enough hours to actually get the above average (for the restaurant industry) benefits and paid vacation as a FOH employee. Management is increasingly concerned with only the bottom line and not the employee. "No Rules" approach forces you to bend over backwards for the customer, no matter how ridiculous and unreasonable their demands. Recent EEOC court case had led to a lack of opportunity for any kind of advancement unless you are a minority. Constant changes in policy do nothing but make our job more difficult and unpleasant.
