Pros

The people are amazing. Every single store within this company that I have had the opportunity to visit/work at has had some of the most fun people to be around. You are very certain about what to expect from store to store. The focus on teamwork makes it easier for shifts to run smoother provided everyone does what is expected of them. Specific to this location in Memphis, TN, you know what to expect from each night as far as tips.

Cons

This particular location yields some of the worst wages out of any place that I have worked at. The current stream of managers either doesn't care or does not effectively convey concern for their employees not making money.

Pros

The money is decent and the hours are pretty flexible (provided you are part-time). The informal atmosphere is comfortable and the management is totally adequate. They were awesome about working around my school schedule while I was finishing up my degree and pulling crazy hours in the lab. Coworkers are very cool, even though we all stress out and scream at each other during the shift, it's all water under the bridge at the end of the day.

Cons

This is a very stressful job. Some customers (less than 5% probably) are certifiably insane. They will let you know that you are a lowly server, and fail at life. If a customer is rude to you, you just have to suck it up. This is a skill I have developed over the years. I've seen some awesome servers get fired because they lost focus and snapped at a customer. Unfortunately, a great number of restaurant workers are full blown alcoholics and/or drug addicts. Not that they are scary or anything, but if you choose to abstain from drugs, are a recovering addict, or consider yourself to be impressionable, then this is not the line of work you should be in.

Pros

Overall company emphasizes education, family, and team work. Excellent higher management, to include those in each individual restaurant. There are great benefits monetarily, health-wise(insurance) that come along with working there. Ah yes and who could forget the slang?!? Though not used for every customer encounter, the Aussie lingo is fun to learn!

Cons

Lack of organized training for new positions. However, my experience may be isolated? When I first started, instead of having me quickly learn the "ropes," I was often sent away to roll silverware - for hours on end. Most times when I asked lower management to have one of the, often three(3) hostess up front train me, I was ignored. Eventually I would be brought up front for a few minutes to organize crayons for young customers and hold a door before being sent right back.
