Pros

- Happy to burn money on parties, first class international travel & accommodations, swag - A lot of awesome people work here - Easy place to collect a paycheck and not be held accountable as long as you tow the central exec/founder team's line

Cons

- Politics of mediocrity and ego, rampant nepotism. Seems they'd rather appease family (both literal and figurative) and watch portfolio burn than adjust to what works and grow - Not results oriented. Entire portfolio is in decline despite market growing or staying flat, consistently fails to even acknowledge that drastic changes in management are necessary - Appears unable to hang on to outside leadership. Happy to speak to wanting to grow and achieve great things during the recruitment process. Will alienate, interfere with, and terminate new leadership that doesn't fall in line with existing leadership's micromanagement even if going against the grain yields tremendous portfolio growth - Ineffective board. Any other firm would have replaced its executive team after years of failure and mismanagement in an otherwise thriving market - Success doesn't seem to generate any credibility or trust. May get 6 months of successful execution before existing leadership inserts themselves in your day-to-day planning/execution process, and fires your peers when they push back - Consistent, frustrating failure to realize portfolio potential due to all of the above

Pros

- Good working environment in studios (CEO works from Vegas HQ). - Good benefits, including fully covered health insurance costs. - Ability to just coast along and collect paychecks, if that’s what you want to do. - Amazing holiday parties.

Cons

The business is a dictatorship, where everything must be blessed by one person, the CEO. No matter what level of success or failure happens, everything revolves around the CEO. Staff who are prepared to question the CEO are quickly moved out of the business and replaced by friends and family who vow allegiance to the CEO. This leads to a situation where other members of the executive team are powerless. In some respects it’s similar to the Republican Party aligning themselves 100% behind Trump, to save their job they are probably forced to agree with every decision the CEO makes. It’s hard to blame the exec team if this is the case, in order to save their positions, shares and benefits they have no option. Career progression, especially for Artists, is very limited, where only the favored few are blessed by the CEO and means creativity is limited. Warning, many of the recent reviews on Glassdoor look suspicious and are probably seeded or encouraged by the CEO.

Thank you for your comments. We regret that we did not provide you with a more effective, internal channel for sharing your critique. If you check the pages of nearly any company on glassdoor, you’re likely to find a mix of reviews. In any business, a range of conditions and outcomes exist. In every company’s history, there will be a mix of setbacks and success, of difficulty and ease. The bottom line is that no one has the same experience. Nor do they have the full picture. The best thing we can do is to pool our collective wisdom in order to make the best and most transparent business decisions. Again, thank you for your input. We know that it will make us a better company in the end. If there is anything else you would like to share, please contact humanresources@playstudios.com.

Pros

Dog friendly. Least challenging job you’ll ever have. Great starter job. Unlimited PTO. Health insurance. Free snacks.

Cons

Executive team are hoteliers without technology experience who insist on micromanaging. CEO has an obsession with loyalty and it made me very uncomfortable. To succeed here you have to be a yes-person. Don’t question anything if you aren’t a family member. Three big rounds of layoffs in one year. Very old technology means everything breaks regularly. No effort to improve because there’s extreme inexperience at the top. Some employees are allowed to take excessive vacations while others are never able to leave. Nepotism is a real issue at this company. CEO hires his family and hotelier friends into major roles even if they don’t have experience. Beware of positive reviews without any cons, they might be fakes. Read the negative reviews to get a good idea of what it‘s like to work here.
