Pros

- 100% health benefit coverage for you and your dependents! - True, and an amazing benefit. - Commuter benefits program. - True, and as expected.

Cons

- Great downtown Austin location with extensive nearby dining options and vibrant nightlife. - Sure, but that's a benefit of downtown, not the company. - Employee-driven entertainment, happy hours, and team-building events. - True, but only employees who are on the committee influence the events. - Casual startup-like environment. - Only if you're referring to dress code. - An open, collaborative work space. - This is true regarding how the physical space is laid out, and that's all. - Flexible vacation policy. - On paper, yes. Be prepared to take a guilt trip once you start taking time off. - Catered lunches multiple times per week. - True, however, it's not worth participating in if you have any dietary restrictions. - Snacks and drinks available in the kitchen. - True, and also not for those with dietary restrictions.

Pros

Playstudios Austin has an extremely diverse and talented team. The wide variety of backgrounds and personal experiences is a dramatic departure from most other studios. Family-friendly, REALLY values experience, focused on hiring people who do more than "check the boxes" on a job listing. Company is growing aggressively due to major successes in recent year. The opportunities for growth and advancement are significant. Management is extremely committed to work/life balance and career development for its employees. More than any other studio I have EVER worked for. You'll be home on-time, your weekends are your own, you won't feel tethered to your inbox at night. GREAT benefits (excellent pay, unlimited PTO, 100% company paid health/vision/dental coverage for your whole family, etc.)

Cons

Getting bigger always comes with growing pains. It can be hard for some folks to make the transition from "start up" mode to a more traditional style of operation, but we need to change in order to accommodate the growth that comes with great success.

Pros

The people at PlayStudios are fantastic. For an artist its important to be surrounded by talented and driven individuals so it is a true privilege to get to mesh with the art team there. The studio is very nice and is in a comfortable and safe location. Culture is very nice.

Cons

Allot of the people at PlayStudios work very hard to avoid the fact that they are making a gambling app, especially on the art team. There are many communication problems in the company. There are allot of founders and they tend not to agree on majorly important decisions. Art management is very disorganized and stilted on a couple people who cant handle what comes their way in an appropriately professional way. Compensation on the art team is poor compared to the value and yearly reviews often involve title bumps but no salary bump. People are given more responsibility but no pay to reflect the added work. The overall direction of the company is questionable at times and the leadership is increasingly detached from the actual development process. Its a common theme to work hard on something and meet a deadline and then at the end of a cycle have something changes last minute because Founders and upper management fails to give feedback earlier on in the process. The company is built to sell and the decisions made within are solely driven by revenue data and monetization. In most game companies the way to make a game is "its not done till its fun," at PlayStudios thats not the case and Im sure its like that at other social casino game companies as well.
