Pros

Fast paced. Great learning in a global multi national Good salary and perks: be under no illusion tho you work for it. Sabbatical mat leave pension ESPP all great. Perks on site of subsidized canteen and free gym Teammates (mostly) are hard workers and very committed but are treated like children. They have to log there every move in two tools, targets are counterintuitive. Great mix and blend of talent Manically busy most of the time however structure is well established

Cons

Narrow career opportunity. Roles are all quite generic Politics is deep seated. If you ain’t playing the game you’re out. Reorg on our reorg each time with major disruption and cold hearted redundancies Everything is over worked into a big deal causing extra waste of time work Reports on our reports with challenging if not inaccurate information Group leaders and above regularly stop top talent moving on to feather their own bed at all levels No accounting of different personalities and diversity is a word not an action. Only focus is male and female Work life balance is a joke. No tolerance at leader level to work from home, unless it’s after hours and meeting needs of the business. A good work week is 80 hours. Salary reviews each year decrease through “creative” new targets set up for teammates to fail, annual review for exceeding teammates get 2% and people meeting targets get 1%. Promotion increase very poor on a good 5% or less. Budget cuts constantly for reviews. In a >5 year period a meets has gone from avg 6% to 1%. Bonus has also been scaled back with payment in shares based on the years performance capped and not paid out or vested for 12 Months. Targets are ALWAYS flawed and the focus is only on budget not the people Management change is constant, illogical and practices favoritism rather then ability Zero focus on Team Leader development Bullying is something I’ve witnessed a fair amount of.

Pros

Work from home option is available with flexible work timings

Cons

They have payments team in Bangalore and lot of their code is still in C++, they are hiring java developers in senior level and asking them to do support in c++ Lot of production issues every now and and then and every developer is asked to do support for 1 month in every 4 months During support you have to be available 12 hours a day from 10 am to 10 pm and as there are lot of issues/bugs developers busy in looking over issues in their huge c++ code base. Also development work is less and most of the time goes in domain and production support People talk less on technology and more on domain Managers promote people who are gaining more and more domain and involved more on support as Managers are also not technology people. They shifted their Bangalore office to some place with poor road connectivity. After shifting to new office there was not cafeteria for 8 months. Expensive food in cafeteria which started recently and PayPal provide just 1200 per month for food.
