Pros

Get to know the customer, products and services. Flexibility to work from home as office is far away and nobody wants to go there.

Cons

No strategy, so very short term focused. No leadership or top management involvement with deep seated issues. People stay most of time looking for another job while pretending to work. No visible efforts to improve culture or communication.

Pros

good tools to work (lap top, not mobile that was terrible), flexible time

Cons

1) no space to ideas, no autonomy, the managers are very operational 2) no empowerment 3) no merit implemented with performance evaluation 4) the "calibration" in the performance evaluation appraisal is a jocke, since it does not work at all 5) the HR VP LatAm never has time to talk to managers, only to talk to VP's or other Execs. As a HR person this professional is a good Controller, no more than that! 6) HR area is tvery disorganized, and the Directors and VP`s are hired based on their university background rather than in their experience and behaviors. So, in HR they have a lot of MBA`s guys without any experience, good technical and theorical background but anything more....big mistake 7) the Ethical Line simply does not work. If you call for that line, you will be fire couple days later. It happens a lot in Brazil and South America.

Pros

You'll be involved in the development of an important and well known product. Good establishment. There's a chance that you'll be working on an international project, with people from many different countries.

Cons

Bureaucracy. Bureaucracy everywhere. From asking for a new mouse to buying a server, you'll face many obstacles along the way, and it'll always take looong time until you get what you need (if it ever happens). Terrible internal processes and tools for tasks and time tracking. Trello? Jira? Not in here! You don't get to work creating native code, but using only internal components of in-house frameworks. It's ok in the beginning of you career, but in the long run you won't actually learn anything new.

Hello, We appreciate you taking the time and effort to share your experiences working for our brand. It’s cool to read that you recognize we have an impact on people’s lives with our products. That’s one of the pillars of our company. We do also value the other points you’re making though. Philips should be a place where you can learn and develop yourself in any way you desire. We regret hearing you didn’t quite experience that yourself. We encourage you to talk to your manager about that. Wishing you all the best!
