Pros

Playboy is a company that has some really great benefits. The parties and the lifestyle are very cool.

Cons

One of the most poorly structured companies I've ever worked for. More VPs with silo'd divisions unwilling to cooperate with each other for fear of being proved incompetent. One of the most hyper-political companies with an incredibly talented staff most set up against each other instead of united in common goals. MBA textbooks written in 1985 could prescribe fixes to these organizational issues. Senior management has been looting the place for years which resulted in near bankruptcy that was staved off by allowing a private equity firm to take the company private and sell off or license every division. Understandable, but awful to work for. Playboy has basically eliminated or outsourced most of their workforce. Much of the company is run by the Canadian porn company Manwin.

Pros

- Really fun at times. - Good benefits. - A about half the people are amazing and talented. - Easy to advance if you happen to be a buzzword management uses to promise something awesome next quarter. - Good experience and brand to work with. - Great parties.

Cons

- The worst and most obviously inept upper level managers that ever converged in one place. - Politics. - People were not held accountable for failure and others were not rewarded for success. - Productive people who were trying hard often ousted or frustrated by mind numbing management choices. - People were more interested in making excuses and blamming others than they were in trying to succeed. - Year after year SVP level managers who clearly were ineffective were never dismissed. - If you were doing something successful or showing signs of profit, another group or manager would take it away and generally destroy it.

Pros

The people that work here are pretty great. There is a certain amount of freedom on the internet that happens when working with adult entertainment.

Cons

Poorly compensated, no chance for raises or promotions, employees are kept in the dark about changes within the company, everyone fears for their job, so much middle-management it is hard to know who does what.
