Pros

Great place to do business as you can always mitigate risks IF your credit analyst & VP are onside Huge bank with tons of opportunities if available AND your VP is onside

Cons

Poisonous work environments - Having worked in 2 offices at RBC in different regions, the consensus from both offices is a poisonous work environment. RBC will allow an unseasoned and completely new to business banking VP take over the commercial center and will lead to a large amount of attrition within the staff. Pay - Commercial Account Managers can expect to make up to $80K max, however, most start off at $60-$65K. You can ask your management to increase your pay, however, they will just look at how many boxes you've circled with regards to performance; if you've missed secondary metrics, you can forget about it. Other FIs will pay good money for Commercial Account Managers - look elsewhere! If you receive an offer, do not present management with the offer as they will NOT match unless they absolutely love you and even then they are governed by how much you "should" make versus how much you were offered. Politics - management is key here as if they are new or "on the rise", they will be looking out for #1 - themselves. Be careful about what you say and who you say it to as it could lead to your downfall.

Pros

Good training platform and programs to advance, especially beginning roles. Licensing programs only from within.

Cons

Not the best compensation structure for personal advisor roles, low base and no incentives or commissioner, however high sales targets.
