Pros
Maybe I just lucked out on my team and leadership, but so far its been amazing. No company is perfect. I'd be skeptical if a company advertises themselves as being perfect in any way. However, after almost 2 decades of experience at various companies from large to small, I can say with absolute certainty that this is one of the best companies I've had the pleasure to work for. I'm not afraid of hard work, long hours, and challenges. That comes with the job. What I've learned to appreciate, is the genuine effort and support from all levels in the company to uphold the the best principles of the company. Some of the items I've listed below are things I've noticed that really add to this. There is a lot of thoughtfulness put into the career development, resources, and support for employees. The idea is 'Understand your employee', and I like that a lot. - Career Advisors and Navigators assigned to each employee. The CA helps identify opportunities for growth and guides the career development of the employee. Navigator is like a buddy who helps answer any questions you might have and shows you around. - HR Tool which allows you to track your 'successes' and 'things-to-work-on' so that you're not left hanging in the wind come time to do the annual review. - Easier ways to give thanks and kudos to co-workers who have impressed you, helped you, done something great - Comprehensive orientation to give a solid overview of the company and how things work - Centralized location for all opportunities, learning tools, etc... for the employee who wishes to continue to grow. Beyond what I've listed above, just the little things make it great. Flexible work arrangements, social clubs, philanthropic groups and activities, celebration of employee life milestones, decent coffee and choices, .25cent soda machines, prime corner window offices converted to meeting spaces/break areas for everyone to utilize, etc.. It's a large company, but it seems to have embraced the progressive forward-thinking elements of start-ups and smaller companies to continue to improve the work experience for employees.
Cons
None so far. I'm expecting that the usual office politics, personalities, etc.. will pop up here and there, but again, I believe that almost everything is what you make of it.
