Pros

1. Great Team support, the people that work there are awesome for the most part. very caring and contribute to your development 2. PTO is and benefits decent, could be better 3. large company feel with a lot of resources and name recognition

Cons

1. tax software & processes are EXTREMELY outdated. Makes the work longer and difficult. 2. as mentioned, the people that work hard get too much work and then burn out. If you make a ton of mistakes, you will get less work and coast in busy season. Managers would rather overload the good preparers & seniors rather than teach underdeveloped 3. Giant disconnect between partners and staff. Staff are unable to voice opinions. Partners and senior managers will sacrifice the staff to meet impossible client deadlines. 4. people are secretly encouraged to eat hours to meet the ridiculous budgets. They want big 4 work with half the budget.

Pros

Great experience working with a variety of companies. Lots of room for promotion if you stick around. Management tries to build camaraderie with social events. Working here will help you get a job at a good company later.

Cons

Absolutely no work-life balance. Expect long hours - the rule is technically 55 a week during busy season but that is a floor not a ceiling and there really is no limit. Unprofessional behavior is tolerated and brushed off as a result of the crazy hours. Some people react very negatively and harshly to mistakes and even belittle people for them. Work is not evenly distributed amongst the team and those who work less hours or treat others with disrespect are rewarded the same as those who have not exhibited poor workplace behaviors. There is also a lot of politics and gossip. The employee network groups touted by the firm never did any activities in this office and seemed like a shell to make the firm appear more focused on the wellbeing of employees. I do not think it is possible for people working in this environment to have healthy work-life balance or priorities.
