Pros

~free lunch ~interesting international community, with an increasing number of foreign hires from many backgrounds ~opportunities to interact with many aspects of a large corporation

Cons

~Englishnization is not real. Most domestic businesses are Japanese only. ~Power harassment, sexual harassment are common. Not addressed by HR. ~Extremely dense political climate - promotions and projects are decided much more by personal connections than by merit. Decision making is extremely top-down ~All KPIs are based on instant gratification metrics without concern for sustainable growth. Anything not related to ad sales and immediate revenue is ignored. (Working in a technical position unrelated to ad sales meant little chance to be noticed or evaluated fairly)

Pros

Opportunity to learn new technologies, but they seem to be gambling too much by only using newer technologies. NoSQL + Node.js + Buzzword bull. They seem to be more concerned with buzzword compliance that using proven technologies.

Cons

They claim to have more than 20 million subscribers, but with their platforms being essentially legal adware/spyware tools, most of the subscribers are not acquired voluntarily. One assumes most of Freecause.com’s subscribers don’t even acknowledge what Freecause is, who their clients and sponsors are, or that they are individually subscribed to a marketing list created by Freecause, which is used to strictly create revenue streams for third parties (and of course themselves), via annoying, malicious tools. Seems to be run by a CTO that has unresolved childhood issues where he must feel authoritative. That may work in other countries, but this is the US.

Pros

The only reason why I waited this long to write is a review is because I was looking for something to fill in this column. But after breaking my own personal record of daily working hours and reaching 18 hours, I decided enough and enough.

Cons

You will be given sessions on how to use zoom, outlook, and basic EM spectrum that we study in junior college and then will be randomly assigned into some department which has no relation your education/experience. You expect them to train you in this new field but no everyone is super busy to give any substantial training and you will be directly put into work the second week itself. Basically they are unable to hire enough people with experience, so they are trying to fill these gaps with freshers. You are been paid the average market salary but expected to do the work of 5 people. Unrealistic goals, unrealistic deadlines and micromanagement at its extreme. Most of the employees are Japanese and Indians. So the company inherited the worst parts of both these work cultures.
