Far from ideal

Pros

For those interested in relocating to Japan, there is that. Co-workers and most employees are for the most part nice and respectable. It is said to the point of boredom now but the free meals are nice, but be forewarned, breakfast & dinner are after typical work hours.

Cons

Several managers are not the best and many aren’t even qualified for leading people let, alone a team. Salary is atrocious and monetary compensation is very weak for the type of company and industry. Little opportunity to grow career wise (i.e. senior engineer here with years of project management experience and management) and not easy to move. High turnover. HR responses to any issues are very poor with respect to time, often need to ask again and again.

Pros

free low quality snacks that you'd rather pay not to eat. always hoovered up in seconds by the boy snack racers.

Cons

where to start? Management is god awful, the only positive reviews written on here must be from the 4-5 managers who protect and promote each other. The direction of everything in the company, from strategy to tech seems to change monthly. There is an internal reorganisation/restructure at least every quarter - which is always a disaster. Training is some of the worst I've ever seen. There were times new employees would be in tears because they've just been left alone for 3 weeks to watch endless mind numbing videos and then thrown into the deep end. Needless to say, turnover very very high. With turnover is so high, they occasionally trick a high potential candidate into joining but you see all the best talent leave after 12 months. Which explains the lack of talent in senior positions. A major issue they have is the least talented employees tend to stay because they have no options and they are the ones promoted into more senior roles - so its a vicious circle of mediocrity. Work life balance - whats that? expect to be in before 8am, work solidly until 7pm and possibly have to go to lousy events in grandad pubs stinking of bleach. Many times, mature and experienced account managers just break down crying at their desk out of the sheer pressure/time constraints and intensity from management. Real boiler room stuff.

Pros

Wide range of services Company benefits Global Encourages everyone to use English Pros totally depends on what team you're assigned to

Cons

Too many organization changes. Management cannot make up their mind. They test out different things on their employees not thinking about the impact. Expect to have atleast 2 organization changes per year. Different process for each team. Expect to use 2 or 3 different tools that does the exact same thing. Changing teams will also introduce new tools that only that team uses. Usually your manager doesn't even know you which is a major cause of demotivated employees.
