Pros

Nice office with a good location, great team and work environment. Nice office snacks and support from direct manager and co workers

Cons

Upper management seems to be disconnected from the rest of the group. Pay is low for the level of work we were doing

Pros

Lots of personable and friendly individuals with a wealth of knowledge to offer. Handful of people who have your back and will advocate on your behalf. You will learn new skills quickly and adapt to balancing a lot at once. Predominantly female space which makes it a unique office environment.

Cons

Constructive feedback often falls on deaf ears or is met with resistance or blatant hostility. Management is not transparent or consistent about each person's or each department's roles and responsibilities which creates confusion and tension. Managers will guilt you into overworking while also claiming they value work-life balance. Younger employees are frequently taken advantage of and thrown every (often unrelated to their actual role) task that the higher-ups can possibly assign them while given no opportunities to set boundaries. More junior employees are constantly given additional responsibilities with no raises and teams are short-staffed from no hiring after people leave. The sales team is generally given free reign and certain members make everyone else work on their schedule, including after typical work hours and on impossible timelines. This is extremely unfair to the other underpaid teams that do not make commission and are often left holding the bag. Company mission is not really upheld in the office. The intent is visible but microaggressions and inappropriate situations are common and left unchecked.

A mess

Pros

Good location: Midtown, New York

Cons

A truly terrible intern program. Half the company is based in Arizona and half in NY, which made meetings a mess because they were always on skype, where there was technical issues, time changes, etc. I started as an intern, and there was NO intern manager or someone to direct us. The first day we sat in a room waiting hours for someone to teach us the CMS, and going forward we were expected to figure our every single thing on our own. We were literally left to our own devices, with no direction, no personalized attention and we had to turn to random people for help, most of the time on Slack because they were in a different state. I'm all about taking initiative and showcasing skills and potential, but when there is no one to turn too for direction or someone is too busy to answer questions it makes it difficult. It was like who cares about the interns and their potential for growth. Eventually we were offered part time positions, most likely because the additional work was just a bit too much for the person in the position. Again, there was minimal training and really no potential for growth. After months and months they had no interest in internal promotions for us, and there was no explanation after our resumes were dismissed. You think because we had been interns/working part time they would have the decency to explain their decision.
