      Pros

      Love the collaborative environment! If you are able to think strategically with a holistic view there is potential to make a real impact with SKM.

      Cons

      When process is not followed, a chain reaction occurs. This is super frustrating since processes are put in place for a reason. Also, team members who are stuck in old ways create a barrier for new, more efficient ways to achieve goals.

      Pros

      Emphasis is placed on quality of work and brand integrity rather than fame. Employees are valued and paid accordingly. Communication and transparency between employees and higher management is open and thriving. Vacation time and other benefits are great, as is work-life balance. This is a place where you can set up shop and do great work — no one is breathing down your neck to make it look or sound "cool," as long as it's high-quality, informative, inclusive, polished work that benefits our readers. All are welcome here.

      Cons

      Having a position here doesn't hold the same cache as working for a more famous publication/brand, so you may often find yourself answering the question "What's SheKnows?"

      Pros

      Get to learn all aspects of an online publication. I gained tons of experience with SEO and got tons of clips published. They let you write as much as you want, if you're a decent writer, which is nice. Also looks great on a resume.

      Cons

      Unpaid with tons of grunt work. I understand that comes with being an intern, but the amount of daunting tasks I had to do hardly gave me any time to write articles.
