Good training and benefits, no work-life balance

Pros

Company has excellent training programs and reasonable benefit packages (although sometimes HR does not share all the information voluntarily and it is left to employees to find out and ask for them!)

Cons

Company has become too big and very hierarchical. Too many layers of management. It is easy to get into a management role ( since there are just too many management roles to fill!) but it doesn't mean much since you are not really developing any valuable skills which would help you in the outside market. The skills which are developed are Schlumberger specific or oilfield service company specific at best. If you are involved on the operation side there is no work-life balance and no respect for people's personal time. You carry your laptop everywhere and are expected to be available no matter if it is evening, weekend or on vacation.

Pros

Never a dull moment. Every job that you do challenges you, develops you, and pushes you towards your ultimate potential. You get to see the world and interact with so many different and diverse cultures.

Cons

As the saying goes - no pain, no gain. You and your family need to be prepared to make sacrifices if you want to climb the corporate ladder.

Pros

There are good opportunities to be a real global person/employee in this company. You can be anywhere in the world any time.

Cons

What they do in kuala lumpur financial hub is definitely called discrimination. %100 SAME job description, %100 SAME job title, every thing done is same, location is same, even the grade is same, but but but they create a line in salary that is COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON YOUR PASSPORT. Yes passport, even not on where you were last working, or you where you were previously.. JUST YOUR PASPPORT. So even though everything else is completely but completely same, your colleague can earn even double or more compared to you just because of his/her passport. Even because of passport/nationality he/she can earn more than his/her manager. This is everywhere in the world called DISCRIMINATION. I even don't talk about all the details about how Kuala Lumpur financial is UNprofessional. I have to write a book on this.
