Trying to be big, act and think too small

Pros

Nice offices (Great North Park, Newcastle) with good outside space to walk off frustrations.

Cons

Trying to play on the global scene but still think like a SME. Having big ideas but not putting resources behind them and expecting employees to give their all with no real incentives.

Thanks for your feedback. We're proud of our people and that's why they deserve to have great offices to work in - we've invested in our locations across the globe and we will continue to, so it's great to hear they are well liked by you...we are also refurbishing Newcastle this year as well...so, even more exciting. Sage does think big and is...from the world's first bott for accountants and now Pegg is the world's first voice activated bott for accounting too! We aim to make accounting invisible so the business builders can focus on their businesses. We've also announced a programme designed to empower the next generation with the AI and bot skills needed as the UK takes the lead on the global Bots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) movement. As part of Sage Foundation, over the next six months, Sage will establish a ‘BotCamp’ for over one hundred school-leavers and millennials, aged 16-25, giving them the opportunity to be at the leading edge of the technology industry. This programme is designed to be inclusive, and provide accessible technology skills that will help people to embrace, not fear, the 4th industrial revolution. 53% of employees are paid via Sage (in the UK), we are the market and technology leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems as well as the UK's biggest tech company. Our people do amazing things - we build, we market, we sell, we support...our people are the best. We reward our colleagues well - whether pay, rewards, benefits, commission, bonuses, Platinum Elite etc. Thanks for reviewing Sage.

Thanks for your review about Sage. There's so much happening in Sage at the moment ranging from our localised summits (the UK is at London's ExcCeL, 5-6 April) ,plus lots of other locations across the world. We have a new global Intranet being launched soon ' Your Sage', Sage People has recently launched, a brand new colleague engagement survey coming soon, Leading@Sage Leadership Program launches 24th March, Platinum Elite location announced - over 100 colleagues will get the chance to go to Rosewood Mayakoba, Mexico, new cloud-based product launches, more evolution of our chat bot Pegg...pause for breath! The Sage Way (available to all colleagues) outlines how we are organized across our seven regions and functions. It sets out how we collaborate, how we live our values, and how we flawlessly execute to put our customers first. Sage Way is about bringing brilliant execution, a strong and positive culture, and our cause of supporting the business builders together. We have amazing people, great products that every business on this planet needs, and a cause that inspires us to do our very personal best.. Please speak to your manager if you haven't seen the new Sage Way or feel free to contact me (Lynne) at glassdoor@sage.com. Thanks again for your feedback.

Pros

They have unlimited snacks and a cool office in Atlantic Station. My boss didn't care if my coworkers were off to their lunch break for 30 minutes or 3 hours.

Cons

Where to start - the marketing team is terrible. They should probably invest in hiring an outside marketing firm. It's not a great feeling when you call leads and turns out that they are current Sage employees or applicants. The marketing team loves blaming the entire sales team for not selling correctly, but they just don't want to admit that they don't know what they are doing. The culture is corporate to a point where nothing gets fixed and your job turns pretty admin trying to document things that are wrong in hopes that your boss can help fix, but that really never happens. Not to mention the VP of sales just resigned along with the head of North America. Goes to show how great the company is doing!!
