Pros

Casual comfortable dress, great clients, great tips. I love cutting mens haor and this is the perfect place for like minded stylists

Cons

Gross disrespect to staff thats not on the "in" with managment. You will be called in constantly and when you refuse finally expect a write up in retaliation. I worked at one location for over 60 days strait. Hangovers are no excuse to have your staff pick up the slack. Ive seen some morally disgusting things that i wont even post online involving a franchise member and an employee.

Pros

At first you're welcomed with open arms and good atmosphere. Pay is better than most and so I expect to work for my money. Good group of co-workers at the time I started and everyone knew their job and did it within the rules and regulations according to Sport Clips.. Constant reminder to keep the shop clean, no problem, fair is fair and should be. Sport Clips has good rules, as any shop, so there really wasn't much misunderstanding what is to be done during work hours and you'd expect the philosophy remains intact as well as a good environment. Go in with your eyes open!

Cons

*Months passed and the manager started to slack as far as the need to keep the shop as tidy and rules as equal for all, but claimed not to see it. She was aware of ppl leaving outside the shop without punching out, inappropriate talk in the workplace, yet she reasoned why they did what they did and complained to others about others behavior rather than confront and fix problems, always saying, we're having a meeting soon, which meant 'someone else will be taking care of the issue' and avoid any confrontation. *The majority of drama is generated from the lack of communication from managers, by favoritism, avoidance and by NOT sharing information with those she didn't feel worthy of hearing it, which means, half the time many didn't have a clue who was coming or going and who was doing what. *The manager was just a manager by title, not a leader and she had the owner convinced she could do no wrong. Rarely we see the owner and when we do conversation is quick and never once about our job or thoughts. Owner and manager had/have frequent meetings outside the shop but we (staff) NEVER hear about anything, except the manager would say the time spent with the owner was always too much too listen to. *Our owner has NEVER NEVER NEVER attempted to offer any medical insurance, let alone help with $ for it, as long as he's owned his locations, its advertised on his hiring sights, BUT he completely ignores our questions pertaining to it, in the past and currently. *I would think it to be false advertisement seeing he offers it. *He doesn't care what clients think, let alone staff, he relies solely on his managers voice. He wonders why his shops aren't making it, for 1, a selected few staff milks time or doesn't feel the need to punch out for lunch and errands or cut their friends hair while punched in and expect other staff to cover them, for what? *I've witnessed many clients walk out ( and its not tracked) when they see stylists go into break room, and not come back out because they are checking cell phones and replying to them BEWTEEN nearly EVERY H/C or sit and eat while ppl are waiting. Work ethics have changed and you can't train new employees to do any different when your manager is doing the same. And your owner only listens to your manager. *There is no advancement opportunities if you become your managers opposition, regardless of how good a stylist you are or follow the rules and try to work in a healthy honest atmosphere, if its not your managers rules, you are her opposition. And if you try to have a civil, intelligent conversation with your manager, be sure she doesn't see it as a threat because then Sport Clips will be your stepping stone.
