Thank you for sharing. We want Springer Nature to be a place where our people can be themselves and learn, develop and thrive in an inclusive culture. We asked our people what's important to t hem and why they enjoy working here. This led to the creation of our first employer brand; Be Part of Progress which helps us talk consistently about what we offer to attract great candidates and explain to colleagues what they can expect back from us. We review salaries regularly and benchmark against our industry peers.

Pros

This is somewhat surprising given the history of academic publishing, but there is a genuine serious effort at SN to promote open science.

Cons

Like all large companies, there can be bureaucratic headaches and inefficiencies.

Thank you for your feedback. Open Science is indeed something we are proud and passionate about. We have published commitments for our publishers at every stage of the process to create more accessible as well as more user focused content. We interact with millions of people every day through our research, health, education and publishing businesses. Connecting with them as authors, peer reviewers, editors, readers, teachers and users of our platforms provides us with the opportunity to influence behaviour on a large scale and effect real change. We are a truly international business and always looking to improve our processes. Thank you again for sharing.

Pros

They are genuinely interested in employees' health and well-being, and they support you financially too in terms of pay and benefits. I feel like I have the tools to grow professionally, and I love their commitment to environmental sustainability.

Cons

The interview process from start to finish is too drawn out, but if you make it through, you can be assured that the quality of the other employees is very high. Once hired, they do require that you work 2 days of the week in the office, which, in my particular role, I feel is unnecessary as I can edit from anywhere, and with the cost of living crisis, I could really benefit from that extra cash if I didn't have to go in. But other than that, there are no other cons that I can think of.

Thank you for sharing. We celebrate the work our colleagues do every day to be sustainable, inclusive, passionate and forward looking. At our core lies our support for the people in our research and education communities. We offer extensive learning and development opportunities and engaging approaches for colleagues like our 'Workation' policy which is very popular and relevant to colleagues from a global background wanting to blend Family and Work schedules. We still feel important for colleagues to connect and have time in the office to continue to build our sense of community.
