Poor management

Pros

Talented colleagues, exposure to different departments, 2 day WFO policy.

Cons

My main issues with this company are: 1) yearly hikes are around 5-10% on top of the very entry level salaries. They also cut bonuses when they feel like. Salaries are low compared to the workload which keeps increasing with tenure. 2) There are hardly any trainings or talent development for people in their entry level positions. Most people stay in the same role for 3-6 years. 3) Highly apathetic upper management - not receptive to feedback or struggles of the team. 4) Hardly any diversity in the pune office. Upper management are all men (publishing industry things?!) while editorial dept. has a majority of women. Mostly local punekars.

Pros

They are genuinely interested in employees' health and well-being, and they support you financially too in terms of pay and benefits. I feel like I have the tools to grow professionally, and I love their commitment to environmental sustainability.

Cons

The interview process from start to finish is too drawn out, but if you make it through, you can be assured that the quality of the other employees is very high. Once hired, they do require that you work 2 days of the week in the office, which, in my particular role, I feel is unnecessary as I can edit from anywhere, and with the cost of living crisis, I could really benefit from that extra cash if I didn't have to go in. But other than that, there are no other cons that I can think of.

Thank you for sharing. We celebrate the work our colleagues do every day to be sustainable, inclusive, passionate and forward looking. At our core lies our support for the people in our research and education communities. We offer extensive learning and development opportunities and engaging approaches for colleagues like our 'Workation' policy which is very popular and relevant to colleagues from a global background wanting to blend Family and Work schedules. We still feel important for colleagues to connect and have time in the office to continue to build our sense of community.

Pros

I enjoy working at Springer Nature because i like working in research publishing and Springer Nature is a great publisher with good people and a nice culture.

Cons

The commute to the office can be a pain but since now we can work part of the week remotely, it is easier.

Thank you for sharing your review. We do indeed have a great culture and it's terrific to go to work knowing that what we do contributes to helping scientists and educators find solutions to some the worlds biggest challenges. Our flexible culture and hybrid working is popular and our open and welcoming culture makes it a great place to work. Thanks again.
