Pros
Taco Bell is not the worst place for a student to work whilst finishing high school or even working toward a college degree. The in-store environment has the potential to be somewhat enjoyable, but this depends on a given team's makeup and on the performance of the above-restaurant leaders.
Cons
As with any fast-food occupation, customers expect more from their experience than is reasonable. Poor in- and above-restaurant management can create a negative and frustrating culture in which there is a lack of respect for one another, for customers, and for issues of food safety. Compensation for hourly managers is disproportionate from that of salary managers considering the minimal difference in requirements—particularly between a shift manager and an assistant manager. Above-restaurant management seems to care about nothing but the bottom line, neglecting the time-tested truth that employees who are treated reasonably well will make the bottom line as well or better than employees who are pressured and threatened with disciplinary consequences.
