Pros

Millennium is a very employee driven company that works to keep its employees happy. They treat their employees like adults, which seems to be a rarity in this day in age. Communication from Senior management all the way down is very open, with most, if not all managers having an open door policy. Millennium strives to meet the annual goals and is focused on helping patients with Cancer, not solely on the bottom line.

Cons

The recent aquisition of Millennium by Takeda has left a lot of questions in the company for employees and the what next in relation to jobs, benefits etc.

Pros

Location is good, you join into a large network of people when you are laid off because of Millennium's large turnover rate. There are some good scientists, but the baffling decisions made by upper management and the constant course changes and reorganizations makes Millennium a frustrating place to get your work done. They have never developed their own drugs, the only reason they make money is because they bought Velcade from a smaller company. Recently they were purchased by a Japanese company and stopped giving out stock incentives, so don't expect anything beyond salary at Millennium.

Cons

Management is terrible - the worst I've seen in industry.

Pros

Caliber of people. Good scientific informatics systems. Open corporate culture. Big enough to have sufficient resources and established infrastructure, small enough so that the company was not bloated with inefficient policies and the need to have disparate groups aligned in order to move forward with projects.

Cons

Company grew too fast, large layoffs were inevitable. Company was starting to adopt big pharma policies when the company is still mid-sized (e.g. locked down desktops), feeling of "nimble" startup was eroding. This may accelerate now that they have been acquired by Takeda.
