Pros

Work at home (WAH) positions /FLEX Good 401k benefits Medical/dental benefits are decent They provide educational reimbursement.

Cons

The department I worked in tends to micromanage their employees; a very stressful environment. For Cigna WAH employees, company watches your key strokes on your computer. There was really no room for growth in the department I had worked for. I have heard from other Cigna employees in other departments that they have the same issues with their department as well.

Pros

Remote capability is the only pro.

Cons

Cigna has a great work/life balance depending on which department you work for. In my department, a day off can lead to 100+ emails and escalations and special requests. We have backups, but not every request will be sent to them. Taking off is really a gamble. There is a high turnover, which adds to our workload. Some departments use a MOS, which is system that requires you to log in and out of each task. If you take more time than what the alloted time for that task is set, you are required to explain why it took you longer. It's pitched to be a great tool to identify tasks that are too time consuming and find alternative ways to help, but I haven't seen 3 improvements to a process that we, as a team, communicated is tedious. In addition, not all departments use this system and we never received an explanation as to why they are not required to. In short, this department specifically works you to the bones and you receive little reward or no appreciation. The supervisors are great and appear to understand, but Management is about money and money only.

Pros

There is not one good reason to work here. I love my team but feel sorry for the abusive system we all have to endure.

Cons

Very high turnover Zero Senior Leadership- fired Constant Corrective Action Plans and Sanctions from CMS and the State Poor provider network- constant access to care legislative complaints Providers call complaining they are not getting paid Doing the work of 4 people- no such thing as work life balance Unrealistic workload expectations. Get called and yelled at by director if don't have business cell phone and computer available on days off or vacation. Poor initial and continuous training Poor IT infrastructure Toxic work environment Siloed departments- no interdepartmental teamwork. Every man for themselves
