Good PTO and flexible/hybrid work arrangement

Cons

Sub-par health insurance, very high deductible. It’s ironic given they’re requiring their employees to use the expensive products they offer.

Nice people, but a big corporation means you're still a number

Pros

I mostly worked with good people there. It's a company that cares about its mission and instills that in everyone that works there. I also enjoyed getting to transition to full-time work at home during COVID and then stay that way after the pandemic. And to their credit when I was laid off (see below) I got almost a year of severance, which was very helpful

Cons

I was at Cigna (later Evernorth for almost twenty years before getting laid off, shortly before my twentieth anniversary there. As easy as it is in a big corporation to get lost in the herd, I'd worked hard to move forward but it was all for nothing. I very much felt like just a number in the end. I've also since found out I was underpaid there.
