Pros

The people trying to do their best and just get by

Cons

We’ve watched as Neustar has essentially taken over and cleared out experienced leadership in favor of their bffs/cronies and poorly paid overseas labor. Three major areas have had new executive leaders join in the last six months. Most folks I know got a 1% raise this year, and meanwhile our CEO mainly seems to be concerned about butts in seats and is now tracking IP addresses against badge swipes. The engagement survey that just went out will be spun hard but I have a feeling it’ll be revealing. The major way to get ahead here seems to be to be a white man. HR touts internal career opportunities but most jobs are filled with external hires; they also claim to promote but it mainly seems to be primarily in overseas regions. Hypocritical at best.

Pros

Competitive compensation and benefits and opportunities to work on large-scale technology initiatives.

Cons

The culture is heavily influenced by favoritism and internal politics. Career advancement and job security often depend more on who you know than the quality of your work. Frequent leadership changes lead to waves of “bringing in their own people,” which disrupts team stability. After the Neustar deal, the dynamic shifted—despite being positioned as an acquisition, it felt more like a takeover. Many long-tenured, dedicated employees were let go to make room (and budget) for new hires brought in by incoming leadership and paid massive amount of money to do the same jobs with less competence and experience.
