Pros

Colleagues are friendly. Least work load. Diwali bonus

Cons

If you want to work on design and development activities then it is not good place to be. Most of the R &D happens in Europe. They give us second hand work which is crap. More focus on production related methodologies which are not needed for desk based profiles. Rigid work timings. No flexibility at all. We need to work 9 hrs 15 mins daily. No work from home option. Main bad thing : at the time of joining 1 year bond. This is not conveyed to new joiners at the time of interview. Then immediately they will send you abroad for some 2 to 3 months for which you need to execute 2 years bond.

Overall Review of Valeo R&D at Tuam

Pros

The company knows what they should do to ensure a fair working environment. They are very conscious of the legal aspects and of their obligations, but it's not implemented in a positive, constructive or fair method - some are overworked and others are underworked because of the way management works.

Cons

Not very employee focused, more focused on making sure they tick the boxes for legal reasons. Very focused on making sure they do everything legally but also make sure they just do enough to cover themselves. Extremely poor HR team - focused on the manufacturing staff, but treat the professional software, software and mechanical staff the same - little respect for the fact that they are highly qualified and career focused and want to be treated like responsible adults not supervised children. My experience is that the best/most experienced employees are expected to work harder because management know they can do it. New or inexperienced (or lazy) employees are often left to their own devices. But everybody is paid the same regardless.
