-doesn't know when to fire folks. keeps them on b/c it's easy (too hard to hire someone else) -loves the college degree - even if it doesn't apply to the job -doesn't like to consider new ideas/ways to improve as seen by the folks actually doing the work -top management is clueless about what goes on at the base level (what keeps the co running)

There is a lot of favoritism at Visa and it is a place where employees are encouraged quite bluntly to be "submissive" to their managers. There is not much of encouragement for employees to think outside the box and new ideas may not be well received. The work environment is not flexible, not supportive of work-life balance. There is not an open and honest environment supported by management. There is also no upward feedback (formal annual upward feedback mechanism is not implemented).
