Pros

Good salary. Events. Cool HQ. Access to all buildings.

Cons

You will preach the gospel of “do what you love” and “make a life not a living” but then you realize, you’re just there to try to help WeWork hit it’s numbers and support the members...and not “doing what you love” yourself. It’s a system you will get sucked into. Also lots of meetings. Roadblocks to get approvals. Micro management. Long hours. Not a conducive environment for people who want to become an entrepreneur themselves because WeWork will eat up all your time/life.

Digital design woes

Pros

They pay well. Reasonable stock options. Very relaxed work environment. Very nice co-workers. Shame about (some of) the management. Pro-turned-con: They have a lot of talented tech employees, unfortunately, they don’t put them to good use.

Cons

The digital design department has gone through a torrid time with new, poor leadership. The culture has sadly turned poisonous over time, going from bad to worse. The management hierarchy and inter-department politics make it impossible to achieve much of anything. If you want to do your best work, this is not the place for you, sadly. Though it could be so different. Aside from work, WeWork has a party culture tailored to 20-something-year-olds. If you’re not young and single, this isn’t the company for you. They excerpt a weird level of ownership over you, demanding you give up weekends and evenings to attend their “mandatory” events, sometimes thousands of miles from your home, sharing tents/rooms with random other employees. They also have a firing culture! I saw many people get fired during my time, and since leaving. If job security or pride in your work are important to you, the WeWork Digital/Tech department is not for you.
