Corporate Role in Chelsea HQ

Pros

Besides the equity in this role there are no pros to working here. There are MANY people here that are just waiting for a payout to get out of here. Hopefully they get it, but this could very well be an overvalued company that will just be another story for HBR to write about in the next couple years about the rise and fall of a company managed poorly.

Cons

The list can be quite lengthy - but everyone on here has hit most of the points. If you care about your career and want to learn/grow - best using your skills elsewhere. I'll just make a couple points on certain aspects of the company I noticed. Culture - there is no real culture here but a fear-based work environment. "Do this because some executive wants this now" They confuse company culture with "work like crazy hours, here is some beer, we're doing this to change the world" - don't believe the bs, its so CEO and his cronies can make $$$. They say that to convince you that paying you little and working you like crazy is all worth it. Management - here is how it goes with management. They got hired because they know Adam, Artie, or something like that. These VP's realize that the area they now own is a mess - so they hire someone else with a ridiculous title and they also realize the dept. is a disaster. The cycle continues of bloated hiring as they just continue to hire with no one wanting to go in and make changes. Also throw in people that just have no clue how to manage people to now own a team. Overall Company - It's just terribly sad because the product is ok but the place is being run by people seeking a thrill of the next "amazing deal in this new market!" Looking to China for your growth is probably not the smartest idea in my opinion - look at Uber. Also, the recent news articles don't look to be showing things are going well there either. Lastly, co-working isn't new and WeWork isn't doing anything unique - the entry into the market isn't very high and competition will just offer lower prices (to a customer that is very price sensitive).

Dream Job

Pros

WeWork is a dream job for any go getter who loves helping people DO and find what they love. The pros are not only helping hundreds of people in their journey or starting, running and or growing their company, but you get to meet the most innovative and exciting people in the world while doing so. You are surrounded by motivated hustlers who keep you happy and motivated as well. I have never been upset to wake up and go to work! I can honestly say that!

Cons

WeWork is an ever growing, fast paced company. It's perfect for anyone who loves a quick environment and who is down for an exciting journey. WeWork is certainly non stop, but with that, you grow and learn so much as a professional as new curveballs are thrown your way every day, and with the help of your team all over the world, you can succeed in meeting those challenges!
