Worst professional experience of my career

Pros

Great brand value socially and for your resume

Cons

Never been somewhere with this much workplace politics. Some other highlights: tons of bureaucracy, nepotism, cronyism, power grabs by senior executives, people don't have the best interest of the company in mind, and lots of distrust/cynicism.

Pros

The awesome members and fee beer.

Cons

Basically everything else that's written here. Employees treated as slaves expected to work 12-16 hour days, managed like a kindergarten, very hierarchical and made to feel "little", overqualified talent hired without being told in interview exactly what they will be doing.

Pros

WeWork is growing brand that offers a great community for small businesses. I loved supporting something providing growth opportunities for small businesses. I loved meeting people, our members, getting them pumped about being part of something awesome.

Cons

Hired to relocate to another state, I signed on after agreeing to relocation assistance. I was flown up to NYC to train, however, there wasn't very much structure to the training program, at all. It was very lackadaisical. After I was hired, I was then thrown into a construction zone, having nothing to do with my training.. a month later, the ball was rolling, and the company decided overnight to make corporate lay offs. Most of the staff found out thru Bloomberg Technology.. as I was one of those. After relocating, giving up a good (financial) life prior and beieving in the brand, only to be laid off... was quite a surprise. My boss said they were also was looking for other career options as they are going thru a rocky phase right now.
