Pros

Its a job during the recession, so that I was grateful for. The free membership to the fitness club that came with employment.

Cons

Where do I even start: This was absolutely the worst place I have ever worked. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Any position that is salary (management) or commission (membership) will treat you so horribly. Company expects greatness (because they charge their members so) but their is an entitlement and superiority atmosphere. So bad management will go out of their way to defer projects because they belive it is "below them."

Pros

About half of the members are amazing. When I was there, the staff on the club level was like a family. Free membership… (Grasping for straws here)

Cons

I worked there 12x longer than the average sales rep (actual math haha not an exaggeration sadly) and was disrespected more every year. The place is run by a woman who is running the company into the ground. The commission structure used to be amazing and I was able to support myself and live on my own as a successful sales rep. Unfortunately, they took full advantage of Covid and drastically cut pay. I couldn’t even pay a car note on their pay structure after 2020. And don’t let them fool you - they could definitely pay you better if they weren’t so greedy. Their turnover is god awful for a reason, and they have learned nothing from that. Also, their sales and PT goals are completely unrealistic, especially for the price point. You can’t sell a beat up Toyota Camry for the price of Mercedes, I don’t care how good at sales you are. Wellbridge needs to know it’s crappy worth, and maybe the sales at all clubs would be better. I’m also pretty creative, and used to really enjoy coming up with events and promotions to get people in the doors. My last year, all the ideas I came up with to better promote the club were shot down immediately. They preferred i went out on the street and handed out passes instead at a light rail station. Made me so proud of my marketing degree…. My sales job ultimately became being a punching bag for both our members who are paying way too much for things to break ALL the time, and our “leaders” who refuse to see why their clubs are failing so badly.

Pros

Free gym membership if you ever get to use it.

Cons

Do not fall for the "pay range" - you will not make what is advertised or told in interview. Management takes advantage of the system in their own favor. Horrible communication, cold shoulders, everyone is on a different page. High turn for a reason. This can become an emotionally stressful environment, and members feel it. Just take a look at their reviews online. No work-life balance, horrible schedule unless your management. Low commissions and you wont even get paid for every sale. Be prepared to spend 9+ hours at a desk making cold calls.
