Wellbridge is company stuck in the past. They pay the absolute lowest in the industry, and they try to hide this fact by making discussing your pay with another employee a write-up offense, even if the discussion took place outside of work hours and locations. A culture of lying and disinformation is promoted in the sales teams, and there's a whole dept whose job it is to cover for them when members get angry at being mislead. Communication between departments is almost non-existent, and even less communication between the disparate clubs across the country. The computer systems and software are woefully out-of-date and archaic compared to the rest of the industry (a fact that members have commented on), mostly due to the insistence of senior management on using decades-old software at every club because the corporate accounting department finds it easier. A great deal of this stems from the CEO/owner, whose refusal to change or upgrade systems has left Wellbridge firmly in the 1990s. Worst of all, the owner has a mindset of "I know all of my employees are trying to screw me over, so I'm going to screw them over first." A startling number of talented people have either left or been fired because of this attitude, and because of foolish ultimatums being issued to them. Skilled, committed people come to this company with hopes of growth and advancement, and leave it feeling used up and discarded. Fortunately, they can get another job pretty much anywhere else that pays more.
