Pros

Employee-friendly. Open attitude. Very high ethical standards in publishing and in society. Very high respect for the academic community. Common-sense approach on investments. Wiley culture spread naturally within the company. Reasonable compensation with decent benefits and perks.

Cons

Clusters of old boys' clubs. Serious misrepresenting of numbers, not transparant to higher echelons. Training deteriorated in last decade.

Pros

Good benefits and work/life balance. Forward-thinking management team. Promote from within. Good people to work with.

Cons

Changes to the publishing industry are creating difficult challenges, and the company is constantly evolving to meet those challenges. In general, publishing companies are at the lower end of the pay scale.

Pros

All of my managers were fair and understanding. The hours are flexible with the ability to work remotely. Also, benefits are generous.

Cons

Common for the industry, but compensation is not great and promotions can be difficult. Many people have been around for a long time, even if ineffective, so it's sometimes tough to move up.
