One of the best publishers to work for.

Pros

JWS provides their employees with the flexibility they need to balance work and life. It all comes down to the kind of relationship you have with your manager, but overall, JWS is one of the most reputable publishers around.

Cons

One downside may be that they are based only on the East Coast and do not always provide advancements for those living in the midwest or west coasts unless they put time in the office in New Jersey.

Pros

Wiley does the important things right. They take care of their people, their authors, their partners, and their customers. They also make smart, targeted and strategic investments. Very little energy of effort is wasted.

Cons

Wiley is a mature media company in a lot of ways. They will always have trouble competing initially with smaller, more entrepreneurial companies. But they have demonstrated that they can catch up and be successful in changing markets like journal publishing, trade publishing and textbooks.
