Pros

The higher up team really cares about their employees and takes the extra mile to make sure everyone is taken care of and happy. The Yummly team is SUPER friendly, welcoming and really watches out for each other in an inclusive environment. Work life balance is great; as long as you get your work done, you're good to take time off. Benefits are great - commuter benefits, unlimited PTO, lunch twice a week, snacks, dog-friendly, health, vision, dental. Absolutely love it here and the entire team

Cons

Nothing that I can think of

Pros

The pros of working at Yummly are countless. At Yummly you'll have the ability to have autonomy and trust to perform your job expertise. At the same time, you'll have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with other teams and work on meaningful projects. If there's something you're passionate about, there is plenty of opportunities to improve the product and help lead projects to build kitchen technology for the future. The management level is very flat and you'll often find our CEO and others on the leadership team working directly on the floor and collaborating with everyone rather than hiding away in an office to themselves. At the same time, leaders at Yummly will encourage those on their teams to grow in whichever direction or path you feel may be calling you. There is the opportunity to move up and you won't feel stagnant in your job. Part of this may attribute to the many different types of projects we're building and you must have the ability to be able to change priorities or work on multiple projects at once when needed. The values and culture at Yummly are unsurpassed by any other company I've been around. Some companies may feel cliquey but being at Yummly feels like a true team, even a family. You won't have to be worried about being patronized for speaking up or sharing ideas. In fact, it is encouraged. This paired with a no jerks policy makes for the best of both worlds where you can really make a difference in your company. Benefits: Yummly has unlimited vacation policies (yes it's really unlimited), great pay, bonuses that are achieved by working together as a team, fun competitions that have monetary rewards at times, free food, the ability to work remotely when you need it (or completely remotely for some of our team), discounts on appliances, and so much more I can barely remember it all. The best of all is the work-life balance you can achieve at Yummly. You're encouraged to take time to care for yourself so you can come to work refreshed every day. The most important thing of all that I must mention: I have never once woken up any morning in my 2+ years of working at Yummly and dreaded going to my job, dreaded talking to someone, felt lack of motivation or felt that I was not an important member of my team or workplace; this just does not exist, or at least it hasn't for me. It's hard to find people that truly love their jobs in society, at Yummly I have achieved the true love and passion for going to work every day and enjoying what I do, which makes life that much more gratifying. You will feel valued for the contributions you make to your team and the company.

Cons

The list of cons is slim to none. We are currently in a few temporary office spaces while we're building our permanent home. There are challenges with working in a temporary environment such as needing to communicate even more than usual (communicating more is probably a good thing) or having a slightly less variety of snacks around at any given time. The positive thing about having some challenges though is that we're growing. Management does a wonderful job of anticipating any challenges we may face and help make transitions easier. If you're ever in a situation where it doesn't feel like it's working or feels harder than it should be, you can feel open to talk to your leader, they will work with you!
