Pros

-Lots of potential to learn about the (fast) fashion industry -Cool perks like merch discounts

Cons

-Micromanaging and abusive management/supervisors who seemed to usually be in a pissy mood play favourites for better roles and get annoyed when you request time off for something important (e.g., scheduling a shift for me when I had a school/university exam and requested time off and getting mad when I mentioned this) -Lack of training in other areas (if you are assigned to one section to organize displays/change rooms, you will not be trained on cash, etc). -Freakishly early truck shipment/stock weekly shifts that are mandatory -Unfriendly supervisors and co-workers -Weird conservative far right policies like wearing proper uniforms and not tying hair, also a bag check at the end of each shift

Pros

Energetic and vibrant workplace Strong and exciting collections like Harry Lambert, Kate Moss, Valentines day etc Gain strong commercial acumen and skills for senior visual positions Managers coach you well and encourage you to build on your skills Very diverse teams Good Discount and benefits Ok work life balance

Cons

Progression can take some time though this depends on the location and managers you have. Most commercials or visual merchandisers might work for 3-4 years before any progression unless you want to become a floor manager or move departments. I was a sales assistant for about 2 years before I started getting trained for anything visual or commercial. Everyones journey is different. More diversity with commercial/visual teams Short staffing means picking up the work of sales assistants, and operations team during busy or transitional seasons. (Sales are crazy!) Can be unorganised if management structure is poor leading to burnout and demotivation. Very physical job so take in to consideration you will be standing for long hours and can have unrealistic deadlines to complete including other tasks.

Pros

Discount and some of the staff are nice

Cons

Majority of the managers aren’t nice and the environment is very stressful. They care about number more than their own staff
