Pros

-you get to see the latest trends -some of your co-workers can be really nice

Cons

My experience at ZARA downtown Montreal was HORRIBLE, I am really not exagerating. Everytime I tell someone I have worked there, they are like OMG , you are so lucky! That is so not true, it is a beautiful store indeed but there are so many things needing to be fixed. You work for a shitty pay and you are exhausted at the end of the day. They make you work crazy shifts (I worked 10h on boxing day). The co-workers can either be extremely nice or extremely bitchy, as if there is no inbetween... The management is horrible, they are never happy with what you do, always want you to be better... They have exaggerated expectations and they treat their employees REALLY bad. I survived around a year there only because I needed money for university but I will never go back

Pros

-Good pay -Good hours -Awsome coworkers -Opportunities to work your way up in the company

Cons

First of all, if you're not in good physical shape, don't even think about it! I lost two pounds during the first week. You have to run up and down the stairs for every single customer check. Closing the store is a pain! It gets completely trashed and sometimes we have to stay until 12am or even later. The management doesn't communicate well with the employees. The 15% discount is ridiculous.

Pros

One of my favourite clothing stores to shop in, enjoyed helping giving customers styling advice in fitting rooms. Sometimes nice co-workers join the team, but not for long.

Cons

Hated having to wear the uniform, it is boring and drab, manager was cold, rude and condescending, clique-y environment, I felt the environment was very high-school and immature. There is a pretty high turn-over because people burn out - the work is incredibly monotonous, there is always SO MUCH cleaning up to do after customers... honestly, there was very little that was fun about this job to me. There's a lot of pressure to do everything perfectly and people gossip about each other. I guess the co-workers can make it or break such an environment and I didn't enjoy working with mine. The pay ($9/hr in 2009) plus the measly discount (15%, which is just tax) meant working very hard for very little.
