Pros

I've worked here for a year and in that time have seen Senior Management and the Execs really engage and focus on it's people, both from a customer focus and it's staff. I love the honesty here in that there are still improvements to be made but it's being embraced and viewed as a chance to really make things better. You can be as progressive in your career as you want; we're encouraged to actively take responsibility for our own development and there are loads of really great courses available on our Learning Hub. These are a mixture of external and internal courses from Management courses to becoming an Excel wizard! If you are proactive, it's a great place to be, if you aren't, it's not going to drop in your lap! I'm actively encouraged to look across the business to see where I can become involved in other projects and broaden my horizons and also work from home twice a week. The flexibility is really great. Our benefits package has just been revamped and has some great new offerings that are really competitive -combined with a 12% pension and health care, pretty good overall.

Cons

The legacy of several mergers and some pockets of historical challenge remain but they are being challenged and worked on -Rome wasn't built in a day!

Pros

It was a good company 5 years ago Benefits are competitive (pension, private health) with the exception of bonuses Work/life balance is acceptable A lot of good (but undervalued) people

Cons

Invisible leadership - particularly UK CEO Weak managers Increasing staff turn over Obsessed with outsourcing, selling business segments and constant redundancies Very much who you know, not what you know Lack of IT investment - charging premium fees for mediocre customer experience Heavily focused on driving share price and increasing the dividend at the expense of customer experience, propositional quality or staff retention.

Pros

Great benefits, laid back environment, friendly co-workers, politics were minimal at the associate level, flex time on start times and flexible PTO, company does best to train employees, minimal micro-managing, plenty of opportunity to participate in off-work community service events, great view of the mountains and Pacific ocean from the office, clean facilities, world-class office, plenty of training opportunities, Management does its best to accommodate and assist line employees, reasonable pay increases for hard-working employees, listens to employees, quality of accounts, brand-name recognition. Company supports educational and designation goals (advanced degrees, ARM,CPCU designations), Supportive team members,

Cons

Constant change in internal structure and systems which is costly financially and the time it takes for an associate to train and adjust to new system or workflow, systems can be redundant, extremely slow to promote and find upward opportunities, local offices have less control over what they can or can't write, constant leadership and structural change
