Pros
- Great perks - Located in San Francisco - Work/life balance has improved since early days - Ability to work on products that are used by millions every day - Great to see Zynga.org contribute to Haiti - PIncus has a genuine passion for the company's mission
Cons
- There are some "cowboy" managers from the early days who regularly burn out teams and are extreme micromanagers taking credit for the team's work - Some of the most recent executive hires don't do much, aka. party secretaries who only add overhead and attend meetings - Politically very aggressive culture; cliques - if you don't fit in, you feel like you're in a shark tank, irrespective of individual contribution or work ethic - Disillusioned with senior management and how they handled the early cash-out at the peak of the stock price and dropped a bombshell for the analysts at the end of Q2. They could have managed the street's expectations better and told a coherent story instead of contradicting themselves at the analyst call - Lots of early employees are net negative financially on their stock position, especially if they exercised at sky high valuations last year.
