Pros

A good company that's willing to accomondate your personal needs. Enjoyed great work-life balance here and management has been really understanding to one's personal needs. As this is a global company, you can find opportunities within the company at a location that you might need to be. The company also greatly supports rotating through different roles and locations.

Cons

Uncertainties around the organization makes BP an inefficient place to work and to grow professionally. BP has been undergoing too many reorgs, making it difficult for contuinity of work. Clarity around one's responsibilities and accountabilites is also limited, thus decisions are made but rarely followed through.

Pros

Pay and benefits. There's also a good history of innovation and a reputation for excellence that -- if the company can regain it -- will serve employees well.

Cons

Current shaky financial status, including perception on the Street, despite an environment that's very favorable to oil companies. Another downside for American employees is the growing emphasis on London leadership at the expense of a strong U.S. management presence. At the same time this is happening, the company is shutting down (for financial reasons) opportunities for U.S. leaders to take expat assignments in London.

Pros

BP previously provided excellent opportunities for international mobility. The downside was that there was no clear strategy for how to manage expats.

Cons

The lack of leadership at BP is evident over the past few years. An organization that once prided itself on being "progressive" has allowed itself to become stagnant as Senior Management shows more concern for staying in their post and less driving a strategy that once made BP the pride of the energy sector.
