1. Little relaxed work life balance as compared to startups

Cons

1. Contractors lacking technical expertise and sitting at the leadership position 2. Former contractors recently moved into permanent bp roles.. too much politics by them as well

Pros

The benefits is much more better than other companies. Always updated with new technologies especially towards data analytics and ML. Salary package is higher than average in the market. A lot of internal trainings and external trainings that are fully funded.

Cons

Average period between each restructuring is every 2 years. When restructuring happens, you may be changed roles that may also doing different area of expertise. It depends if you are willing/flexible enough to change your roles. Messy project management due to different direction in every restructuring. It does not allow the process to be matured first and people always need to keep update with the new processes. Sometimes you will need to work extra hours due to the working hours flexibility. Start early morning and ends late night.

Pros

Nothing that I can think of

Cons

TERRIBLE management Extremely hierarchical Very segregated even if you are in the same team Not allowed to talk in the office Whenever you leave your desk, it is assumed that you are not working and slacking off, even if it's for a bathroom break Extreme micromanagement Heaps of red tape Unable to make real difference even when serious formal reports are made Poor behaviour from senior leaders, causing poor behaviour patterns from the top down No opportunities for promotion or career development No support from management You will get in trouble for trying to be innovative You will get in trouble for trying to challenge the status quo If you are not blonde haired and blue eyed, you will be discriminated against If you do not fit into the 'bp box' you will be bullied until you resign If you don't share the same personality as management, you will be bullied until you resign If you are different in any way, you will be bullied until you resign They ask HR to put people on performance improvement plans if they are not in the top 10% of performers The workload is disgusting - it is expected that you complete 100 hours worth of work in 38 You are expected to work overtime They promote flexibility, but it is highly frowned upon if you actually try and work flexibly You will get bullied if you try to work flexibly You are a number - I have sat in HR meetings with senior leaders who have said these words exactly This company does not care about you, stay away!!!!
