The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Booz Allen Hamilton (McLean, VA) in May 2007
Interview
There was an initial phone screen followed by a face to face interview. They brough in a group of 8 people to interview face to face. Before the face to face interview they gave an overview of the benefits that BAH offered. They also told me that they didn't have a set number of positions they were hiring for, if everyone was qualified they would make offers to everyone. I interviewed with three different people for about 30 minutes each. This is the way BAH does it. Usually 1-2 Level III's and 1-2 Level IV's. Everyone there dresses in suits everyday, so expect to work in a professional atmosphere. The communication with them during this process was fairly good. They kept in touch during the whole process. Make sure you can talk about what type of experience you are looking for and how you can bring value to the firm. They are not looking for people who don't know what they want.

Interview
I was contacted by a Booz Allen recruiter saying the team would like to take me in for an interview. I set one up via email, since I was already located in the same area, and the recruiter sent me instructions on where to go for the interview, as well as the necessary paperwork to bring. On the day of the interview, I interviewed with the entire team I would be directly working with, including three colleagues and the manager. Everyone was very nice and helpful, and the questions they asked pertained more to work habits (prefer individual or group work), why I was looking for a new position, why I chose Booz Allen, etc. It seemed like they were trying to figure out if I was a good fit with the team, rather than if I had any specific knowledge on the position I was being hired for. After the interview, I was actually called back later in the week (or the following week) to see if I could come in again and meet with my team's manager's manager (couldn't really say no). I talked to another colleague (not on the same direct team, but under the same upper manager) before finally speaking with the upper manager. Everything went smoothly, again no really tough questions were asked other than why I chose Booz Allen, where I saw myself in five years, etc. Interview ended with some talk of numbers and negotiation on salary.

Interview
I initially heard from the company via email. I initially declined until there were openings in a particular portion of the firm. One month later, I was contacted regarding that portion. I was screened by a recruiter from within the company, then agreed upon a date for an in person interview. The in person interview went very smoothly. I met the recruiter in person, then went to a room for a series of interviews, each asking about a different portion of my resume, and what type of position I was looking for. At the end of the interview, the recruiter came back in and went over HR, and began the salary phase. I found all representatives of the company to be bright, cordial, and interested in sharing their opinion (good and bad) of the company and culture with me.
