I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Electronic Arts (Burnaby, BC) in Dec 2011
Interview
3-4 step process. HR interview, followed by an engineers interview. Team lead/Manager interviews after. The team rates all candidates and calls the shortlisted few one last time for an interview. This is your last interview. If lucky you get a call with a few days.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Electronic Arts in Nov 2015
Interview
Went through 3 phone screens. The first 2 were great, just chatted with the interviewers about my past experience. They also asked me hypothetical questions about testing games, and how I would diagnose a problem that users report, which was fun because I got to work through some scenarios.
The 3rd phone screen was with a hiring manager, and they asked 2 coding questions. It caught me completely off guard because she pretty much didn't talk through the whole thing.
My past experience was the interviewer would work together with you, and prompt you to the right direction if you spoke your thoughts when solving the problem. This interviewer didn't attempt to give me feedback on anything I was doing, didn't say anything while I was talking through my thought process, and stayed quiet through the whole thing. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Electronic Arts (Burnaby, BC) in Oct 2015
Interview
First round was a 30 minute phone interview with two engineers. Second round was a hour long technical interview with two more engineers followed by a 30 min interview with management.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly questions on my previous experience and broad technical knowledge questions. There were no surprises, easy interview for any new grad or junior engineer.
