I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ford Motor Company in Apr 2023
Interview
Applied online and was reached out by a recruiter within 2 weeks. Started off with a technical questionnaire followed by few rounds of interviews. The whole process seemed very unorganized. There was no intro/initial call with a recruiter to go over the logistics. On the day of the interview, the interviewers were different from the ppl the recruiter said would interview me. When I asked to tell me more about the hiring team during the interview…it seemed like the hiring team was different from what the recruiter told me. Aside from a lot of confusion and lack of organization, I enjoyed the actual interviews as they were more realistic than some leetcode problem you will never encounter in your job. I thought the interviews went pretty well. I could’ve certainly done better but the nerves got the best of me. I asked the recruiters when I could expect an update and got ghosted. Is it really hard to update with “sorry we are not moving forward”? Recruiters need to realize they’re the first and last impressions of the company when interviewing. I felt like I wanted to work for this company as I went through the actual interviews but wouldn’t even recommend interviewing here after getting ghosted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mix of behavioral + realistic programming session. Seems like the interviews vary a lot but you will be fine as long as you can communicate well and know your basics

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ford Motor Company (Detroit, MI) in Mar 2023
Interview
Disorganized and drawn-out interview process which left much to be desired. 30 days elapsed from the initial contact with the recruiter until my interview, which was rescheduled twice by Ford. The recruites could not provide any information about the product or group I would be interviewing with -- would this, for example, be e-Commerce? When I log in for the remote interview (2 hours), the internal engineers listed on the interview agenda were not present, and I was then interviewed by contractors, who revealed this detail at the end of my interview in the course of my questions on the team structure. But I was not interviewing for a contracted position. The interview itself was average, both on the behavioral and technical side, although the contractors appeared to have come in loaded with assumptions, and made a couple of errors and made incorrect statements when questioning my knowledge. It seems like the technical portion of their interviews varies widely based on some of the reviews here, but anyway we walked through a test-driven development exercise. I came away feeling very good about my prospects. The next day, I receive an impersonal one line-email which simply said "this one wasn't a perfect match." Overall, could have been structured much better, and probably varies widely by whichever group you interview with.
