The interview process was pretty standard, HR screen, case study, and interview with team members. Everyone was very friendly and made the whole experience pleasant. Ultimately, I was not chosen for the role, but I enjoyed the people I met and was encouraged to apply for other roles.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Sep 2022
Interview
The interview process begins with your application, which, in most cases, needs an internal employee listed as a references to even be considered. (My experience is limited to entry-level jobs applied to). Then you are asked to participate in a blind assessment that is specific to the role. If you do well on the assessment, you will be invited to a screening interview with HR and then an interview with the hiring manager(s) for the position. They are very communicative throughout the entire process, but it’s definitely difficult to break into the industry. Many I’ve spoken to and myself have gone through many applications and even interviews before landing a job.

Interview
Was made to write a review of a contemporary fictional novel that came out in my cover letter. Asked many questions pertaining to experience in the industry. They seemed to be screening for people passionate about books but with know-how of what the job entails.
