I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Oct 2018
Interview
I was contacted solely by an HR person for an interview and showed up for my interview the standard 10 minutes early. I waited for at least 20. Once in the interview the HR person was so robotic and cold that I felt incredibly uncomfortable. The questions are standard but with little room for detail positive embellishment. I was just relieved when it was over.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Jul 2018
Interview
Initial phone screen followed by 1:1 meeting. The people were nice but their process stinks. The hiring manager said she wanted/needed to move fast. After I reached out to the recruiter for feedback she said they would like to consider me but were waiting for other candidates interviews to finish. Each time I reached out I got an apology from the recruiter for not having a definite timeline. After following up once a week for the next 3-4 weeks I gave up. More than a month later I got a call from the recruiter to let me know someone else had been hired. The same week I saw on LinkedIn the new person had started. If they weren’t interested why didn’t they let me know weeks earlier?! Typical big brand names treating candidates poorly.

Question 1
Mostly this was a personality interview with a few experience questions thrown in.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jul 2018
Interview
Was given a video interview beforehand where I was asked around five basic questions - e.g. "Describe to us a favourite novel you've recently read and tell us why we should read it." Then a short, very informal interview (20 mins circa) in person after online application/video interview as mentioned.
