I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Refinery29 (New York, NY)
Interview
I got in touch with my interviewer through a connection at the company. I was very excited for the interview and prepared meticulously. The interview itself lasted about 10 minutes, and I was only asked one question. I was then told to submit an extensive edit test by the end of the week, which i did. I never heard anything back from the editor that I met. It felt as though she had dismissed me before she met me. If that's the case I am not sure why she asked me to submit the edit test, which I worked very hard on. I regret the wasted effort. I followed up after a week and still received no response, not even a confirmation that my materials were received. It's very disrespectful to ignore candidates in this manner.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Refinery29 (New York, NY) in Jan 2015
Interview
phone interview with basic background and resume questions. in person interview was very informal, did not ask a lot of questions. Seemed to have mind made up as soon as I walked in. I had to pry for information and ask most of the questions about the role and the company in general
The interview process was the least professional I've ever had. At this point in my career—a decade plus at major companies—I was treated like an intern. I was asked ridiculous questions that sounded like they came from a "how to interview for dummies" book and I was never told that the position had been filled, even after a rigorous edit test.

Question 1
"So ...do you have any ideas for us?" Seriously? Of course I have ideas, but you have to be a bit more specific!
