Interview
Like others have described here, they only wanted to know about my personal life and any "after school activities" I participated in; however, I could see this coming given that many other individuals have mentioned that the process is always like this. The issue I have with Shopify is specifically their lack of any organizational skills and professionalism. They could not seem to remember to follow up with me at any point, and the issue I take with this is that they had known all along that they were not considering me, but had decided to "string be along" either way. They also couldn't ever remember to email me back (huge lack of time management skills). Frankly, their lack of professionalism is absolutely astonishing with no one seeming to be the least bit busy or have anything productive to do (girls at the front desk were gossiping and forgot to give me a name tag). The entire process took over 1 month and I didn't even make it to the last round so I wouldn't waste my time with this company if you're looking for serious work. These people are just young kids that have absolutely no idea what they're doing so also be prepared for the "interview" to feel really awkward (the girl who interviewed me couldn't even make small talk at the beginning and I had to ask her how her day was; so weird).

Interview
I was asked to do a 15 minute phone interview. Right when it started I was told that someone made a mistake and I was supposed to be contacted sooner. It seems people had already been interviewed for this position, so it ended up more like a courtesy call that I only found out about at the very start of the phone call. I was also told at the end that I would get a detailed e-mail regarding the reasons why I was not selected for the position (if I wasn't). I was informed that I did not get the position via e-mail, but they refused to share why. A very strange and disorganized process overall.

Interview
I applied to the job online through the Shopify careers area where you enter some atypical things like your twitter handle and the funniest thing you've seen online. The job description specified the specific dates that the first round of interviews would be held and how many people would make it to that round, which was really nice to know. The job description did not include specific experience requirements but did cover a brief overview of what a recruiter does. About 2 weeks later, only a few days before the first round of interview dates, I received an email that I was invited to select an interview time through a link.
When I arrived at their offices, I made myself a nametag with the ipad at the reception desk. Very open concept office with apple computers, iphones, ipads everywhere. Everyone was very laid back and relaxed, wearing comfortable clothing - most people in jeans. The person I was meeting with took me to a meeting room for a 10 minute interview. The conversation was about my life story and very laid back. She did not have a copy of my resume and didn't want a copy. It was obvious she was looking for a certain personality and fit instead of experience. She was very interested in the structure of my current company. Questions that I found incredibly inappropriate and a potential discrimination case in human rights were "What highschool did you go to?" and "What year did you graduate university" (which was also on my resume had she had it) and "Did you go directly from highschool to university and how many years was your program". Clearly she could determine my age from that and possibly even my religion based on which school board I was in during highschool. Interview was 15 minutes at the most.
Was grateful not to get a second interview (would've turned it down anyways) as I was uncomfortable with the questions asked and would not ask the same questions if I became their new recruiter.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Unexpected: What highschool did you go to? What year did you graduate university? Did you go directly from highschool to university and how many years was your program? - all potentially discriminatory, maybe she was testing my knowledge of discriminatory questions
