I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at TJ Maxx (Fairfax, VA) in Jul 2013
Interview
I met with the Hiring and Store Manager in the Manager's office. The office had a counter that was attached to the front side of the wall from the entrance door and extended to the end of one side wall. A computer , work paper , phone , printer and folders were spread along most of the table. There were three chairs where one I believe is internal employees or outside hires like me. There were unopened boxes on the right side piled to two levels. The office was neat and organized and felt like a busy room with a lot of management activity to be executed in the near future. The interview involved questions about why I wanted to work for the company, if I have experience working in the retail industry and so on..

Question 1
What have you done in the past to exceed a customer's expectation.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TJ Maxx (Valdosta, GA) in Oct 2011
Interview
My story is not very exciting because I knew someone who worked there, but it is a two step interview process. You interview with an assistant manager and the general manager. It's a pretty straightforward interview; basic questions. Just be sure you're at least a little prepared for the questions.
