I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Zynga
Interview
I was interviewed by five people - it took way longer than I had thought!
Each interviewer had me do a coding problem or a systems design problem on the whiteboard. One interviewer asked me for the O(n) of search algorithms. Another asked me to design a REST API. The technical level was pretty high.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Zynga (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2011
Interview
I had an inside connection who fast tracked me to a casual interview. I didn't have insight into whether or nor the position was contract or permanent, but wanted to find out more about the role they were offering so went with it. I received an offer within the week as a contractor and they completely low balled my salary. The "interview" was also weak, nothing truly indicating that they were taking into consideration my 6+ years in the business.

Question 1
The most difficult thing was understanding the salary I was offered. The recruiter (after looking up her credentials on Linkedin) has little to no experience in the recruiting industry and gave me no insight that it would take up to a year for conversion as a temp. WARNING about that - make sure you are asking for your maximum salary because they WILL low ball you and they WILL not reveal the length of time you are stuck as a contractor. Their temp services do include an option to sign up for benefits through the temp agency, but its still expensive. If you want to be working there, as a full time employee, but denied health, stock and all the other FTE perks outside of free meals - make sure you are accurately lobbying for your salary you need. Its really unfair the way they are not transparent about it all. Walk away or negotiate, its not worth being at a job where you are worrying about money instead of worrying about the work you are doing.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Zynga (Bengaluru) in Apr 2011
Interview
Multiple rounds of phone interviews. Initial round of phone interview consisted of technical questions which checked the understanding of data structures and opearting systems. The succeeding rounds were of more application level in nature
