Pros

I couldn't find anything good about the company besides their history over a hundred years ago.

Cons

I'm not sure if they treat the American half of their operations in such a vile way because they secretly hate Americans, but management doesn't care about their employees, even though they say they do. I went through different management, and each was worst than the former. Since we were dealing with a product that affects the health, there is supposed to be a safety supplies readily on hand, however, many of us on later shifts were left without proper safety equipment. The incompetence of management and leads was only second to the subtle hostility, they exhibited.

Pros

Pay was fair to middling, good emphasis on safety

Cons

Constant reorganisations and redundancies stripping experience and knowledge from the company, seemingly to reduce pension liabilities following the ICI takeover and keep shareholders happy. That worked well but you lost the goodwill of your remaining workforce so that many of the talented people left took off too

Pros

People are good. 401k matching and pension are very good. Healthcare is very low priced for single individuals.

Cons

HR policies. They literally would rather hire an external applicant for more money versus paying an internal applicant, that is better suited, similar pay. They have a pay raise cap at 10%. So if you make $50k and get promoted to a managerial position, the most you can make is $55k. If you were external, you'd make $90k. It makes zero sense.
